Gold ‘N’ Valley Tours

Gold ‘N’ Valley Tours is a small family owned business operating one and three day safari tours out of Perth, Western Australia. We travel with a maximum of six passengers, offering personalised tours to small groups in an airconditioned four wheel drive vehicle fitted with coach seats.

We offer friendly relaxed safaris while still giving detailed information about the areas we visit. Our tours are all fully inclusive of all meals and accommodation where applicable and while we do run to a schedule we allow plenty of stops for sightseeing and photos.

Our specialities are wildflowers, heritage and nature based tours into rural and outback Western Australia.

Touring Options

Three Day Wildflower, Outback Discovery Tour

Explore New Norcia and the old wheat belt region of Western Australia en route to the outback sheep station country. Spend a night in a sheep station cottage before venturing into one of the gold mining areas stopping for a fossic at some old mine sites along the way. This area is also one of the most spectacular wildflower areas in Western Australia and during the spring is often carpeted with pink and white everlasting daisies and other varieties of flowers.

Stay overnight in a Geraldton motel and then explore historic Greenough Hamlet, visit the beach and wander amongst the mystical Pinnacles before returning to Perth.

Morning, afternoon teas, all meals, all accommodation and all entrance fees are included.

Departs Wednesdays during the months of August, September and October.

Wildflower Special Day Tour

Depart Perth at 0800 and spend an interesting day viewing some of our wildflowers at close range. We will hope to see Kangaroo Paw, Cat’s Paw and a variety of types of Orchids, Lechenaultia and many other species depending on the time of the season. We will also examine some more closely down our microscope which we carry for field use.

Departs Saturdays during the months of August, September and October.

New Norcia, Toodyay Day Tour

Depart Perth at 0730 and travel to Toodyay, a delightful small country town nestled in the Avon Valley. Here we visit the old Connor’s flour mill and the convict Gaol. We now move on to New Norcia, Australia’s only monastic town founded by the Benedictine Monks in 1846. After lunch we will join the afternoon guided town walk and learn the history of New Norcia. After a visit to the museum and art gallery it is time to sit back and relax on your journey back to Perth arriving back between 1830 and 1900.

Penguin Island Day Tour

Depart Perth at 0800 and take a drive through Kings’s Park and view the City and the Swan River with time for a photo stop. We then head to Tumbulgum Farm to see sheep shearing, working sheep dogs, cow milking, lamb feeding, other farm animals, kangaroos and emus. Take a hayride and taste billy tea and damper. From here we head to the ferry for the 45 minute two island cruise viewing Australian sea lions as well as an abundance of marine life through the glass bottom boat. We arrive on Penguin Island in time for the feeding of the penguins in the Discovery Centre before exploring the island and then catching our ferry back to the mainland. Then travel back to Perth via Fremantle.

5 Day Historical Goldfields and Outback

Day1:-
Departing Perth at 0800 we will travel through the Darling Range to New Norcia where we will have morning tea and time to take a browse through the Art Gallery and Museum which tell the story of the Benedictine Monks who built this town.From here we will travel to Paynes Find and our overnight stay.
Day 2:-
Today we will visit the old Payne’s Find Gold Battery before travelling to Mt Magnet where we will view the modern open cut mines surrounding the town.It is now off to Sandstone and our overnight stay at the Sandstone Hotel built in 1907.
Day3:-
View some of the points of interest around Sandstone before travelling through sheep station country to the historical towns of Agnew and Leonora. At Leonora we will visit the old mining town of Gwalia and it’s many old buildings and mining museum before heading to Kookynie and our overnight stop at the Kookynie Hotel.
Day4 :
This morning we have a look around Kookynie with it’s ruins of the old town and remains of the gold workings and machinery. It is now off to Kalgoorlie with stops at Niagara, Menzies and Broad Arrow along the way. This afternoon will be spent in and around the Kalgoorlie area. Stay tonight at a Kalgoorlie Motel.
Day 5 :-
This morning we visit the museum of the Goldfields, Paddy Hannan’s tree and take a tour of the Hannan’s north Goldmine.
It is now time to head towards Coolgardie and Southern Cross before leaving the Goldfields area and re-entering the wheatbelt on our return journey arriving back in Perth about 2000.
