Ironbark Tours is a locally owned and operated tour business based in Townsville, Tropical North Queensland. Your guide, Tony O’Connor has lived and worked in the region all of his life and provides expert commentary on topics including local history, flora and fauna, Indigenous culture and life in the tropics. Areas covered range from World Heritage listed wet tropics rainforests to Charters Towers and the Outback.

Tours are suited to all ages and are conducted in a new 24 seat air-conditioned deluxe coach. So join Ironbark Tours for a journey of discovery to experience life in the tropics and to meet many of the wonderful characters that call North Queensland home.

Charters Towers Day Tour

Charters Towers is renowned for its heritage and gold mining history. At the height of the gold rush during the late 1800’s Charters Towers was the second largest city in Queensland and was referred to as "the world".

This tour will take you back in time with a city sights tour and guided tours through local attractions and magnificent heritage listed buildings.

Rainforest Village Of Paluma & Mount Spec National Park

A day tour of the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area taking in rainforest and the village of Paluma, remnants of early pioneers, including tin miners and timber cutters from 120 years ago to the role that the region played during the years 1942 – 1945 with the battle of the Coral Sea.

Enjoy fresh baked scones at Ivy Cottage where you will see a range of bird life. Visit Lake Paluma for a picnic lunch and a stroll through the surrounds.

Take in a swim at the mountain stream and waterfall of Little Crystal Creek.

Wallaman In The Wet

Wallaman Falls is the highest permanent, clear drop waterfall in Australia. Arrive at Ingham’s historic Noorla Hotel for a full buffet breakfast.
Travel through the World Heritage listed rainforest and Wallaman Falls. Witness the falls and one of the most diverse ecosystems on earth. Enjoy a gourmet lunch followed by a rainforest walk and a swim in the waters of Stony Creek.

Return to the Noorla for champagne and cheese before travelling back to Townsville.
