Ultimate Adventures will get you hooked on Barramundi providing you with a memorable fishing holiday in the Kimberley.

Hairy Dog’s Fishing Camp situated on the banks of the Lower Ord River ex Kununurra is in an area prolific with bird life, crocodiles, tropical wildlife and a variety of fish species.

From here you will enjoy part day, full day or extended small boat safaris exploring this unique river system. Our guides are experienced, skilled fishermen/bushmen and our small boats are set up for traversing the shallow rockbars and rapids and to provide you with the best opportunity to catch the Barramundi, spot crocodiles, birdwatch or take photographs.

Being virtually untouched, the area provides satisfaction for those who enjoy the serenity and relaxation of the bush. Small groups of businessmen can use the facility for personal and relationship development conferences. The camp is set up bush style with open kitchen/dining, verandah sleep-outs, bunkhouse and ablution block, all with river views.

Transfers are provided by courtesy four wheel drive (4WD) vehicle from Kununurra and all meals, snacks, fruit, cool drink and plenty of water is supplied.

Fishing gear is supplied (rods and reels are on a replace if ‘lost’ basis). Bedding and mosquito nets are supplied however visitors are asked to bring a towel, sunblock, insect repellent and personal items. Comfortable protective bush clothing and footwear and shady hats are recommended.

We package to other remote locations by float-plane charter from Kununurra. Our aim is to cater for small personalised groups from 2 – 12 people or individuals and we welcome customer specific tours.

Ord Experience full day barra fishing safari

Our guide will collect you from your accommodation in Kununurra to travel by courtesy 4WD to the Lower Ord River where you will transfer to comfy small barra boats.

You will enjoy a full day exploring and traversing the unique river system to catch the famous sportfish, the barramundi. Lots of birdlife, tropical wildlife and crocodiles co exist and the area is very scenic.

Fishing gear (rods and reels on a replace if lost basis), picnic lunch, fruit and cool drink and plenty of fresh water is supplied. Visitors need to bring a shady hat, sunblock, insect repellent and wear protective bush clothing. A camera is handy to ‘catch the action’.

Escape on a fully guided all inclusive fishing holiday safari to the Lower Ord River in The East Kimberley.

Stay at Hairy Dog’s Fishing Camp set up bush style with separate ablutions block, bunkhouse, kitchen shelter and verandah sleep-outs – all with river views.

Your experienced guide will collect you on the first morning in Kununurra and you will travel by courtesy 4WD vehicle to the camp. Here transfer is made to the comfy barra boats designed to traverse and explore the shallow rockbars and rapids of this unique river system. The target fish is barramundi and we will get you hooked!

Other river species will be encountered such as Western Sooty Grunter, Archerfish, small Tarpon, catfish, shark, Silver Jewfish, and on occassions, Mangrove Jack and Stingrays. Lots of birdlife, tropical wildlife and crocodiles inhabit this scenic area.

All meals including snacks, fruit and cool drink will be supplied as well as bedding, insect screens and fishing gear (rods & reels are on a replace if lost basis)

B.Y.O.G. Visitors are asked to bring a towel, shady hat, sunblock, insect repellent, personal items and protective clothing. It’s handy to bring a camera to catch the action! Hot showers, fans, 240V power is available at the camp.
