Adelaide to Melbourne 3 Day Adventure Tour – GS01

Enjoy this three-day adventure tour from Adelaide to Melbourne, highlights of the tour include the Great Ocean Road, the Grampians, adventure caving, Aboriginal Bush Tucker and Dreamtime.

. Day One – Adelaide – Aboriginal Bush Tucker and Dreamtime – Adventure Caving. Departing Adelaide at around 0700 we travel through the picturesque Adelaide Hills, across the mighty Murray River and then follow the coastal route down through the Coorong. Our first stop is at the Wilderness Lodge where you will discover Aboriginal Bush Tucker and Dreamtime stories of the Ngarindjeri people. We then move on to the coastal fishing town of Kingston the home the largest red lobster in Australia. We travel inland to Naracoorte, to first have a hearty lunch and then on to explore the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves. Put on a pair of overalls and a hard hat and then experience the thrill of Adventure Caving, where you ‘get down and get dirty’ crawling, sliding and scrambling through tunnels and chambers. Challenge and conquer your inner fears and feel the adrenalin rush as you experience adventure caving for the first time. Each person receives a certificate of recognition of their courage. Our first night will be at Naracoorte Backpackers where we will treated to a great Aussie barbecue. Time to relax and unwind at one of the friendliest country hostels in South Australia.

. Day Two – Naracoorte – Grampians – Port Campbell. From Naracoorte we travel across the South Australian border into Victoria passing by Mount Arapilies a well known rock climbing sight and then through to the Grampians National Park where we will spend a whole day of sightseeing, exploring and bushwalking through this magnificent landscape. The Grampians is renowned for its grand and rugged ranges along with its abundance of wildlife and fauna, from the breathtaking views from both the Reed and Boroka lookouts, to a walk down to the base and rock pools of the spectacular Mackenzie Falls. Bushwalk up the Grand Canyon passing through magnificent rock formations, finally enjoy lunch in the Grampians savouring the atmosphere of the great Australian bush. To finish the day we travel down to the coast to take in the start of the Great Ocean Road, from the Bay of Islands to the splendour of the 12 Apostles at sunset. Staying overnight at the coastal resort town of Port Campbell.

. Day Three – Port Campbell – Great Ocean Road – Melbourne. From Port Campbell we continue the journey travelling along the Great Ocean Road, winding through some of the most stunning scenery in Australia. A journey of contrasts from massive rock formations sculptured by the waves to stunning beaches and ancient rainforests. We will visit many other scenic points including, London Bridge, The Arch, Loch Ard Gorge and then climb down the Gibson Steps to the beach to see the 12 Apostles from a different view point. Driving through the Great Otway National Park visiting Maites Rest to enjoy a breathtaking walk through the rainforest. Lunch will be at either the Kennett River or the coastal town of Apollo Bay. Kennett River is a popular surfing beach nestled amid the gums at the foot of the Otways and from here you can stroll up to see the koalas as well as head down to the beach for some exciting boogie boarding in the surf. After lunch we make our way through the scenic coastal towns of Lorne, Anglesea and Torque home of the Quicksilver and Rip Curl and then through to the world famous Bells Beach home to the great Easter Classic Surfing Competition before arriving at our final destination, Melbourne.
