Peppermint Bay Cruise – The

Peppermint Bay Cruise is a fully-guided half-day 75 kilometre (46 miles) adventure cruise, on board the 22 metre (72 foot) “Peppermint Bay II” luxury catamaran, from Hobart harbour along the Derwent River, past the northern tip of Bruny Island into the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and on to Peppermint Bay. You return to Hobart by 1700.
The Cruise allows you to see sea life in the Channel using underwater cameras, viewed on flat screen monitors throughout the vessel. You also have the rare opportunity to see exclusive footage of the shipwreck, deep below the Tasman Bridge.
During your journey you will see rare and majestic sea eagles, nesting on the cliff faces. On any given day you may spot seals, dolphins and migrating whales – in season.
You also visit an Atlantic salmon farm, where the guides explain the incredible process that delivers some of the world’s finest salmon to tables around the world.
If you choose the Explorer Package, lunch is served using fresh locally grown produce and features such specialities as our house smoked ham and salmon, Bruny Island oysters and herbs from our own herb garden. It offers guests a taste of what is regional – a Taste of Peppermint Bay.
If you choose to take the cruise only, lunch can be booked at Peppermint Bay restaurant.
Peppermint Bay restaurant overlooks the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and the lush rolling hills of the Huon region. You can explore the local galleries or shop for regional fare and produce in The Providore.
