Golden Nugget Discovery Tours specialise in tours of the Goldfields region of Victoria. We take you off the beaten tourist track to show you the true Goldfields splendour of the old goldrush towns and diggings that time has forgotten, as well as the more popular attractions. You also get to taste the award winning wines that are grown at the numerous wineries in the Goldfields region, the main area’s are Ballarat, Pyrenees and Bendigo. The Goldfields has many parks and forests to get back to nature with your Eco-guide. The Goldfields has a great biodiversity of flora ranging from wet gullies lined with tree ferns to dry Box-Ironbark forests. The biodiversity of the fauna is second to none, with the bush alive with bird calls, but unfortunately most of the animals will be asleep as you pass through the forests. The day tours include the golden cities of Ballarat and Bendigo, Central Goldfields of Maryborough and Dunolly, Western Goldfields of Avoca and Ararat and Eastern Goldfields of Daylesford, Castlemaine and Maldon. Included in your tours are the attractions of Central Deborah Goldmine, Sovereign Hill Historical Museum, Gold Museum, Eureka Centre, Ballarat Fine Art Gallery, Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre, Golden Dragon Museum, Bendigo Pottery, Bendigo Joss House, Bendigo Tramways, Buda Historic Home & Gardens,Penny School and Gallery, Ballarat Aboriginal Cultural Experience and National, State Parks and forests to numerous to mention plus the great wineries of the Goldfields. A maximum of six people go on tour, so in a relaxed atmosphere you can explore and discover the real Goldfields region with your friends and friendly Eco-guide. The business is a member of ECOTOURISM AUSTRALIA and follows their code of practice when conducting tours. The business supports the Australian Koala Foundation by providing and enhancing koala habitat.
