Bibbulmun Track Foundation

Opened in 1998, the award-winning Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great, long-distance walk trails stretching nearly 1000 lilometres from Perth hills to the historic south coast town of Albany. The Track is named after an Aboriginal tribe from the south-west who walked long-distances to celebrate and care for their land.

Signposted with yellow ‘waugal’ triangles (rainbow serpent of the Aboriginal Dreamtime), the Track leads walkers through jarrah forests carpeted in wildflowers, under towering karri and tingle forests, down mist-shrouded valleys, over granite boulders and along breathtaking coastal heathlands.

In the words of one walker “colours blend, birdsong harmonises, and frangrances are soft and alluring…life becomes very, very agreeable.”

Suitable for people of all ages and experience, you can join the Bibbulmun Track for just a few hours, or for an epic end-to-end journey of up to 8 weeks!

A wide variety of short walks, interpretive tours, extended trips, accommodation and walking packages, corporate walks and seminars plus a free information service and merchandise sales is offered by the lively ‘Friends of the Bibbulmun Track’, a not-for-profit organisation that helps promote and care for the Track.
