Heritage 4WD Safari Tours Pty Ltd

Heritage Tours – the ultimate way to experience the real Australia, the lifestyles, landscapes, flora and fauna of the beautiful Outback. Established in 1989, this Cairns based company specialising in four wheel drive safaris is owned and operated by locally born Gary Waddington, who has gained a wealth of experience travelling and working in the remote and fascinating outback. Together with his team of experienced staff, you can be assured a world of discovery and excitement exploring Australia’s unique wilderness.

Cape York Peninsular is one of the last unspoilt frontiers of Australia. Until a little over 100 years ago, only indigenous Australians enjoyed this unique paradise. Even now, it still remains a wild sparsely populated wilderness that is trafficable only in the dry season and then only to four wheel drive vehicles for most of the way. To travel overland to the Cape is still a true adventure allowing the traveller to see the unspoilt and diverse scenery, wildlife and birdlife at close range.

The Gulf Savannah region is a safari country of golden Savannah grasslands abounding with wildlife. Encompassing an area of some 186,000 square kilometres, it is Australia as it once was. The ‘Outback by the Sea’ as the Gulf Savannah is also known, is a high road to adventure, a passport to history and an eye-opening experience in one unique package.

Whilst travelling throughout the diverse terrain of Northern Australia, you have the chance to experience, first hand, the beauty of these remote areas. Camping off the beaten track, surrounded on all sides by the great outdoors, you have the rare opportunity to fully appreciate the many facets of Mother Nature at work.
