Great Adventures Reef & Green Island Cruises

Great Adventures operates a wide range of day tours from Cairns in Tropical North Queensland to one of the natural wonders of the world – the Great Barrier Reef.

Modern high speed catamarans depart daily whisking guests away in comfort to the spectacular outer reaches of the Great Barrier Reef and the unique reef and rainforest environment of Green Island. Guests visiting Green Island have the choice of three convenient departure times and the option of full or half day tours.

Situated on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, their modern reef activity platform features undercover seating and tables to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, full bar facilities, sundeck, swimming enclosure for children, change rooms with freshwater showers, and scuba diving facilities with a semi-submerged platform.

Snorkel and dive amongst beautiful coral gardens, or if you choose to stay dry, you can still embrace the natural wonderland below in the underwater observatory, or from the comfort of their spacious air-conditioned semi-submersible.

Great Adventures offers the choice of combining the Outer Barrier Reef cruise with a two hour stopover on Green Island for the ultimate one day reef and island experience.

Green Island, a 6000-year-old coral cay, is only 45 minutes across the Coral Sea from Cairns aboard Great Adventures fast catamarans. A National Park, it’ss home to over 120 native plant species and colourful bird life, surrounded by coral gardens and abundant marine life to explore. It’s the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest.

Guests can learn about the island ecology with a guided eco walk and discover the wonders of the reef with an informative glass bottom boat tour.

Great Adventures is accredited with Advanced Eco Tourism Certification and is part of the Quicksilver Group of Companies.
