Kangaroo Island Wildlife Safari Two Day Tour – CA2

Our guides are committed to finding as much native wildlife as they can in the two days, and then providing you with a wealth of information. We see all wildlife in the wild and are one of the few tours that can take you on a private beach walk at Seal Bay instead of a ranger guided tour. Expect to see kangaroos, wallabies, Australian Sea Lions, New Zealand Fur Seals, platypus, echidnas, Southern Right Whales (in season), koalas, dolphins, Brush Tailed Possums, penguins, goannas (in season), cockatoos and lots more. Our wildlife activities include nocturnal walks, wild penguin viewing on a remote beach (not a penguin parade) and platypus viewing at black swamp lagoon.

. Day One – Our tour starts bright and early when we pick you up from your hostel in Adelaide at 0600 and head along the Fleurieu Peninsula. At Cape Jervis we jump on board the charter boat and land you on Kangaroo Island 45 minutes later. We slowly make our way towards our private Wilderness Cottage located at Vivonne Bay on the south-west coast, along the way visiting Seal Bay, where we do a beach walk with the Australia Sea Lions, Hanson Bay (swimming and snorkelling), Little Sahara sand dunes (sand boarding), plus a selection of many other great spots. After cooking up a barbecue feast at our cottage we head out for a nocturnal walk to see all the animals active at night, this includes penguins (we see penguins on a wild beach rather than a commercial penguin parade), rare Tammar Wallabies, Brush Tailed Possums and of course kangaroos. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – We head for Flinders Chase National Park and drop in to Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, two of the islands premier locations, and by visiting these spots nice and early, we manage to avoid the crowds and see these amazing places in solitude. From here we head for a hike, there is a great selection to choose from and depending on the time of year, weather and group abilities we’ll select the best for the day, on average they are two to four kilometres in length, some end at great little beaches where we can swim, others allow us to see wildlife including the elusive platypus. After lunch at the visitor’s centre we head for the for the tranquil north coast, here you have the opportunity to really experience the fantastic coastal views. Dropping into Snelling’s Beach and Stokes Bay before heading for American River and Penneshaw. In Penneshaw you will have a chance to grab a feed before the charter boat departs at 1730, we’ll normally get you back to your hostel between 2030 and 2230. Includes breakfast and lunch.
