Outback Wilderness and Flinders Ranges Adventure Eight Day Tour – LTT07

See Coober Pedy, Lake Eyre North, travel the famous Oodnadatta Track, experience the Ridge Top Tour at Arkaroola and see Wilpena Pound on this eight day wilderness adventure tour.

. Day One – Travel direct to (0700 departure) Glendambo (or Wirraminna Station) and see Port Augusta, the Arid Lands Botanic Garden and Lake Hart and stay overnight at the desert oasis of Glendambo.

. Day Two – Travel up the Stuart Highway to Coober Pedy and explore some attractions in this unique town and visit the Breakaways for a spectacular sunset (weather permitting). Stay overnight in an underground motel.

. Day Three – Travel to William Creek and visit Lake Eyre North, access by a four wheel drive track through the vast Anna Creek Station, the largest cattle station in the world (the size of Belgium) to a real wilderness area around this vast salt lake. An optional scenic flight is available at own cost of approximately AUD115.00 per person. Stay overnight at the William Creek Hotel, basic accommodation with ensuite facilities (may be cabin accommodation with separate facilities).

. Day Four – Travel south along the famous Oodnadatta Track and visit the unique Mound Springs, Coward Springs, Curdimurka, Lake Eyre South, Marree and Lyndhurst Ochre Cliffs on the way to Leigh Creek for our overnight stay at the Outback Resort or cabin accommodation (ensuite).

. Day Five – Travel east through the ranges to the Gammon Range National Park and on to the Arkaroola Wilderness Resort. There will be an opportunity to walk through Weetootla Gorge into the Gammon Range National Park and or visit Grindels Hut. .

. Day Six – Take the famous ‘Ridge Top Tour’ in the morning (own cost) and after lunch either do a walk or four wheel drive vehicle waterhole tour. Overnight Arkaroola.

. Day Seven – Travel down the central Flinders Ranges, through the spectacular Brachina Gorge Geological Trail. Stay overnight in the picturesque town of Melrose (oldest town in the Flinders Ranges). Option of scenic flight over Wilpena Pound own cost (recommended ).

. Day Eight – Tour the Southern Flinders Ranges through private property and see magnificent views of the ranges and Spencer Gulf. Travel through Clare Valley to Adelaide via the beautiful ‘Skilly’ Road (winery visit optional).

Flinders Ranges, Gammon Range and Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary Adventure Six Day Tour – LTT11

See the spectacular beauty of the Flinders Ranges, Gammon Ranges and Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary from the highest vehicle access point in the ranges.

. Day One – Travel from Adelaide via the Clare Valley up to the Flinders Ranges. Stop for a nature walk through the Wirrabara Forest, scenic drive through the Port Germein Gorge and four wheel drive vehicle track over the Southern Flinders for spectacular views of the Flinders Ranges and Spencer Gulf. Retire for the night in the relaxing and oldest town in the Flinders – Melrose, approximately three hours north of Adelaide.

. Day Two – Travel deeper into the Flinders Ranges to the great Australian ‘outback’. See gorges, fossils and Aboriginal art sites. Stay at the historic Blinman Hotel – the ‘Top of the Flinders’.

. Day Three – Travel to Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary via Glass Gorge, Beltana, Aroona Dam Sanctuary and Italowie Gorge. Optional bushwalk through the Weetootla Gorge in the Gammon Range National Park to Grindells Hut.

. Day Four – Do the famous ‘Ridge Top Tour’ in the morning and the Echo Camp Back Track or the Waterhole Tour in the afternoon and stay until dusk to sit back, relax and watch the wildlife come in to drink at one of the many waterholes.

. Day Five – Travel to Wilpena Pound, visit the Wearing and Chambers Gorges, Stokes Hill and Hucks Lookout on the way. Take a bushwalk through the pound entrance to Wangarra lookout. An optional scenic flight over Wilpena Pound is recommended at an extra AUD80.00 per person approximately.

. Day Six – Return to Adelaide along the eastern route via historic Burra. Take a look at the old mines or just relax and have a break before the journey back to Adelaide.

One Day Flinders Ranges Tour – LTT08

Experience Aboriginal and pastoral history, spectacular Flinders Gorges and fossils in one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world – optional scenic flight available own cost. Travel in a comfortable four wheel drive station wagon with forward facing seats.

Flinders Ranges Three Day Tour – LTT03

Spend three days four wheel drive touring in the spectacular Flinders Ranges. Travel via old stock routes, see Brachina Gorge, Wilpena Pound and visit an isolated outback hotel.

. Day One – Travel through the Clare Valley wine growing area and on to the Port Germein Gorge then follow an old stock route (four wheel drive vehicle) with panoramic views of Spencer Gulf and the southern Flinders Ranges. Stay overnight in Melrose the oldest town in the Flinders ranges.

. Day Two – Travel north through Quorn, Hawker, Moralana Scenic Drive and a walk into Black gap. This drive gives views of the Elder Ranges and the southern wall of the Wilpena Pound. We then drive north on the western side of the range to Parachilna for a stop at the famous Prairie Hotel. Stay overnight at the Blinman Hotel, which offers excellent meals with an outback atmosphere.

. Day Three – We travel past the Great Wall of China rock formation to the Brachina Gorge where you will see one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth and ancient fossils. We visit the Wilpena Pound Centre and take a scenic flight over the pound (the best way to see this magnificent feature of the Flinders Ranges at extra cost of approximately AUD80.00 per person). We return to Adelaide via Cradock, Orroroo, and Burra with a brief stop in this historic old copper mining town

Ultimate Outback Tracks Adventure Eight Day Tour – LTT01

Journey through Australia’s vast outback and travel three legendary stock routes. Highlights include spectacular scenery, bird watching, visit to Aboriginal art site, William Creek, Marree, Birdsville, Innamincka, Coongie Lakes wetlands, Strzelecki Track and Arkaroola.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide central business district at 0645 and travel to William Creek via Woomera, Roxby Downs, Olympic Dam and the Borefield Road to the Oodnadatta Track, stop off at an old Ghan Railway site. Overnight cabins. Enjoy a relaxed meal at the William Creek Hotel.

. Day Two – Head down the track to Marree (take an optional early scenic flight over Lake Eyre) visiting historic sites, Mound Springs and Lake Eyre South along the way. Stay overnight at the Marree Hotel. (A more relaxed day).

. Day Three – Travel up the famous Birdsville Track. Take a break at Mungerannie Hotel for lunch and visit the wetlands, do a spot of bird watching or take a dip in the warm water. Stay overnight at the Birdsville cabins and enjoy a meal at the Birdsville Hotel.

. Day Four – Visit ‘Big Red’ sand hill on the edge of the Simpson Desert, the Birdsville Working Museum and Wadi Trees or take a walk around the billabong on the Diamantina. Stay another night in Birdsville.

. Day Five – Travel to Innamincka via Cadelga Ruins, Cordillo Downs, Arrabury and the Dig Tree and on to the Cooper Creek Homestay at Innamincka for two nights.

. Day Six – Depending on track conditions visit World Heritage listed Coongie Lake to see the amazing multitude of bird life there after the recent flood event. Take the Sunset Waterhole Cruise to Kings Marker.

. Day Seven – Travel down the Strezleki Track, viewing the Della gas site and the huge Moomba installation, take a break at Montacallina Bore in the Cobbler Desert. Turn off the `Strez`at Mount Hopeless past Moolawatna to Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary Village for an overnight stay.

. Day Eight – Return to Adelaide via Blinman, Hawker and Burra.

Cattle Station Opal Field Adventure Six Day Tour – LTT02

Departing from Adelaide, Melrose or Port Augusta, experience some of the most remote places in Australia. See Mound Springs, stay at remote William Creek and Coober Pedy the opal capital of the world.

. Day One – Travel to Andamooka Opal fields. Pass through Pimba and Woomera. Stay overnight at Duke’s Bottle House Motel (ensuite). Look through the old original dugout homes.

. Day Two – Spend some time exploring this unique town – travel through Roxby Downs and Olympic Dam (the giant Copper Uranium Mine) and then on to William Creek – the smallest town in South Australia. Via the Borefeild road and the Oodnadatta Track stopping off at Curdimurka (the site of the Outback Ball) to Mound Springs, Lake Eyre South and Strangeways Sheep and Overland Telegraph Repeater Station ruin. Marvel at the conditions the pioneers endured. (Optional scenic flight over Lake Eyre available).

. Day Three – Travel up the famed ‘Oodnadatta Track’ to Oodnadatta calling in at the historic Peake Repeater Station Ruins and the massive old railway bridge over the Neales River, spend some time at the waterhole nearby. Turning west at Oodnadatta heading to the Painted Desert for a walk in this spectacular area of Breakaway country. Stay overnight at Evelyn Downs Cattle Station.

. Day Four – After bidding our hosts goodbye we head by a outback track for Coober Pedy an amazing town where most people live underground and most of Australia’s opal is found. Stay overnight underground (ensuite).

. Day Five – Explore Coober Pedy some more and head South to Wirriminna Station near Lake Hart a large Salt Lake (mostly dry).

. Day Six – After a leisurely start head back to Port Augusta or Melrose, visit Woomera the once secret rocket range town but now housing an extensive display of early space exploration. (Earlier start if returning to Adelaide).

Four Day Flinders Ranges Tour – LTT10

Experience the southern and central Flinders Ranges, its pastoral history, spectacular gorges and ancient fossils in one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth. Highlights include the Clare Valley, Parachilna, Blinman, Brachina Gorge, Flinders Ranges National Park and Wilpena Pound.

. Day One – Travel through the Clare Valley wine growing area (visit a winery) and on to the Port Germein Gorge then follow an old stock route (four wheel drive vehicle) with panoramic views of Spencer Gulf and the southern Flinders Ranges. Stay overnight in Melrose the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges.

. Day Two – Travel north, visit and walk through Alligator Gorge in the Mount Remarkable National Park on to Quorn, Hawker, Moralana Scenic Drive and a walk into Black Gap. This drive gives views of the Elder Ranges and the southern wall of the Wilpena Pound. We then drive north on the western side of the range to Parachilna for a stop at the famous Prairie Hotel. Stay overnight at the Blinman Hotel, which offers excellent meals with an outback atmosphere.

. Flinders Ranges Cattle Station and Opal Field Adventure Seven Day Tour – LTT04

Departing from Adelaide experience some of the most remote places in Australia. See Mound Springs and stay at remote William Creek and Coober Pedy the opal capital of the world.

. Day One – Travel through the Clare Valley and Southern Flinders to Blinman (the highest town in South Australia) in the Central Flinders Ranges. See Wilpena Pound and spectacular Brachina and Parachilna Gorges. Stay overnight at the Blinman Hotel Motel (ensuite).

. Day Two – Return to the Marree Road via Glass Gorge for a spectacular view of the Heyson Range in the morning light and continue up the Oodnadatta Track to Marree stopping off at Beltana, Aroona Dam Sanctuary and the large and colourful Lyndhurst Ochre deposit. A brief stop at Marree, a once important town on the old Ghan railway, then on to our overnight stop of Muloorina station. See the large wetland fed by a flowing bore (restricted flow) and home for a large bird population.

. Day Three – Travel further up the Oodnadatta Track to William Creek. See Mound Springs, the Old Ghan Rail and Overland Telegraph historic site. A scenic flight over Lake Eyre North is available at William Creek (optional at own cost).

. Day Four – Further up the track to Oodnadatta, divert to the Peake Overland Telegraph station ruin to appreciate the hardships of the early pioneers. Stop at the bridge at Algibukina over the Neals River (the longest on the old Alice Springs railway). Have a break at the nearby waterhole. After visiting Oodnadatta we head west to the Painted Desert for a walk through the beautiful Breakaway Country and then on to our overnight stay at Evelyn Downs Cattle station.

. Day Five – After breakfast travel along an outback track to the amazing town of Coober Pedy where over half the population live underground and most of the world’s opal is found. Spend the rest of the day exploring this desert town and its attractions.

. Day Six – Finish exploring Coober Pedy and head south to Wirriminna Station near Lake Hart (stopping at Glendambo for a break), a large dry salt lake for an overnight stay.

. Day Seven – Return to Adelaide via Woomera, Port Augusta, Port Germein and Port Wakefield stopping at points of interest along the way.
