Flinders Ranges Adventure Two Day Tour – AHT006

Personalised motel/resort accommodated Flinders Ranges highlights tour. Travel through the spectacular gorges of the Flinders Ranges National Park, enjoy the exclusive four hour, four wheel drive vehicle tour of the picturesque Arkaba Hills and fly around the spectacular geological formation called Wilpena Pound. Available as package or options.

Day One – Pick up from hotel in Adelaide between 0730 and 0800, and travel 400 kilometres north to the historic townships of Quorn and Hawker, the hub of the Flinders Ranges and the gateway to the Outback. Lunch at Hawker before the Moralana Scenic Drive to accommodation at Rawnsley Park or Wilpena depending on availability of accommodation.

. Day Two – Early breakfast before 30 minute scenic flight around this spectacular, ancient geological formation called Wilpena Pound. After your unforgettable flight return to Adelaide via the Bunyeroo Valley and Gorge and Brachina Gorge, a geological journey through 640 million years. Lunch at Hawker before continuing on through the quality wine producing Clare Valley. Stop to sample some local produce, before arriving back in Adelaide at approximately 1800 to 1830.

Flinders Explorer Three Day Tour – AHT007

Personalised, motel/resort accommodated, extended Flinders Ranges tour. Visit the spectacular gorges of the Flinders Ranges National Park, Chambers Gorge Aboriginal rock engravings, four hour four wheel drive vehicle tour of the picturesque Arkaba Hills and fly around the spectacular geological formation called Wilpena Pound.

. Day Three – Return to Adelaide via the Bunyeroo Valley and Gorge, Aroona, Brachina Gorge and on to Hawker for lunch. Then on to Adelaide via the Clare Valley stopping for wine tasting on the way. Arrive in Adelaide at approximately 1800 to 1830.

See the best that South Australia’s majestic Flinders Ranges has to offer. Visit spectacular gorges of the Flinders Ranges National Park, Chambers Gorge Aboriginal rock engravings thousands of years old, the world famous Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary’s Ridge Top tour and fly around the spectacular geological formation called Wilpena Pound. . Day One – Pick up at 0800 from Adelaide hotel and travel in modern, air conditioned, four wheel drive station wagon, 400 kilometres north via Port Augusta to Hawker for lunch. After lunch, journey through the beautiful Moralana Scenic Drive before booking into accommodation at the Wilpena Pound Resort or Hawker if Wilpena unavailable. Enjoy an unforgettable 30 minute scenic flight around the spectacular geological formation of Wilpena Pound. Overnight accommodation at the Wilpena Pound Resort.

. Day Two – Continue journey to Arkaroola as we travel through the heart of the Flinders Ranges via Bunyeroo Valley and Bunyeroo Gorge, Brachina Gorge, Parachilna Gorge and Blinman. With abundance of wildlife in the area you could see kangaroos, emus and the graceful Wedge Tailed eagle. Stop for a four wheel drive trek into Mount Chambers Gorge, the most spectacular accessible gorge in the Flinders Ranges, before a picnic lunch at the entrance. View the gallery of ancient Aboriginal rock engravings, before continuing on into the Gammon Ranges National Park and the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary Resort. Two nights accommodation at Arkaroola Resort.

Day Three – Early breakfast before joining the exclusive, world famous, Arkaroola ridge top tour, travel through the creeks, valleys and over the ridges of the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, climaxing with an amazing view from Siller Lookout. After lunch, take a short trip to the beautiful Stubbs Waterhole and capture more memories of the flora, fauna and rugged beauty of this wondrous, ancient area. After dark, tour the universe from Australia’s largest privately owned Astronomical Observatory (optional). Accommodation at Arkaroola Resort.

. Day Four – Return to Adelaide via Copley and Leigh Creek stopping for lunch at Hawker. Continue on to Adelaide travelling to the east of the Ranges through Orroroo, Jamestown and the famous wine producing Clare Valley. Sample some of the local produce, if time permits, before arriving at your Adelaide accommodation between approximately 1800 to 1830.

Coober Pedy, Lake Eyre And Wilpena Pound Four Day Tour – AHT008M

Visit Coober Pedy attractions, Lake Eyre 60 minute scenic flight, four wheel drive vehicle trek to Lake Eyre shore, see the sights of the Oodnadatta Track, the Bubbler and Mound Springs, the Old Ghan Railway, the Flinders Ranges and a spectacular scenic flight around Wilpena Pound. Travel in the comfort of a modern air conditioned four wheel drive station wagon, registered chauffeured vehicle. Follow in the footsteps of the famous explorer John McDowell Stuart and the Old Ghan Railway. . Day One – Depart Adelaide at 0630 for Coober Pedy via Port Augusta and Woomera with a brief visit to Heritage Park in Woomera. Arrive Coober Pedy at approximately 1800. Tour around Coober Pedy on arrival including The Breakaways. Overnight accommodation at Coober Pedy.

. Day Two – At 0800 depart for William Creek via Anna Creek Station, the largest cattle property in the world. Enjoy a one hour scenic flight over Lake Eyre on arrival. Then four wheel drive trek to Halligan Bay at Lake Eyre (five hours, 134 kilometres return trip). Overnight William Creek Hotel.

. Day Three – Depart William Creek at approximately 0800 for Wilpena Pound Resort travelling via Marree. Stop at Coward Springs, visit the Bubbler and Mound Springs before arriving at Lake Eyre South. Arrive in Marree for lunch. Visit Farina, Ochre Pits, Leigh Creek coalfields, Beltana, Parachilna Gorge, historic Blinman copper mine and the Flinders Ranges National Park before overnight accommodation at Rawnsley Park or Wilpena Pound Resort.

Day Four – Enjoy a 30 minute scenic flight around Wilpena Pound before departing for Adelaide travelling through the heart of the Flinders Ranges, visiting Bunyeroo Valley, Bunyeroo Gorge, Aroona Valley, Brachina Gorge, Hawker, Quorn, Melrose and the Clare Valley for wine tasting (time permitting). Tour around the town including The Breakaways (location for the film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome), underground home construction, underground church. Overnight accommodation at Coober Pedy.

. Day Two – Leave Coober Pedy at 0800 for William Creek travelling via Anna Creek Station, the largest cattle property in the world. Enjoy a one hour scenic flight over Lake Eyre on arrival at William Creek, followed by a four wheel drive trek to Halligan Bay at Lake Eyre (five hours, 134 kilometre return trip). Overnight accommodation at William Creek.

. Day Three – Depart William Creek at 0800 approximately for Arkaroola travelling via the Oodnadatta Track and Marree. Visit Coward Springs artesian springs the Bubbler and Mound Springs, Curdimurka and Lake Eyre South, before lunch at Marree. After lunch visit the ruins of the ghost town Farina, the original old Ghan railhead, Lyndhurst Ochre Pits and the Leigh Creek coalfields. Leave the desert behind as we enter the Gammon Ranges arriving in Arkaroola at approximately 1830. Overnight accommodation Arkaroola.

. Day Four – Take the famous four hour, four wheel drive Arkaroola ridge top tour before leaving for Wilpena Pound, travelling through the heart of the Flinders Ranges. Four wheel drive trek into Chambers Gorge, the most spectacular accessible gorge in the Flinders Ranges, view the gallery of Aboriginal rock engravings thousands of years old before visiting the old copper mining town of Blinman. Walk into Wangara Lookout on arrival at the Wilpena Pound Resort. Overnight Rawnsley Park or Wilpena Pound.
