Touring Options

Adelaide-Coober Pedy Accommodated 5 Day – TR22A

Travel in an air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle or mini coach on this five day tour from Adelaide to Coober Pedy and return to Adelaide. Highlights of the tour include the Flinders Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, Lake Eyre and Coober Pedy.

. Day One – You are picked up in the Adelaide metropolitan area between 0700 and 0730. We drive north through the Clare Valley vineyards, with time to taste some of the great wines that are produced in the Clare Valley. We then travel onto the ghost towns of the Southern Flinders Ranges. You will experience an exciting drive to a ridge top where you will have magnificent views. We then and enjoy a healthy bush meal cooked on the fire. Accommodation in cabin.

. Day Two – Your journey continues north, travelling the dusty roads. You will explore the rugged Flinders Ranges, where you will discover its priceless geological treasures, crystal clear waterholes and a wealth of fauna and flora. We will hike around gorges rich in Aboriginal culture. Accommodation in cabin.

. Day Three – It is time to enter the desert country. We make an early start and head towards Marree, once a bustling cameleer town. From Marree we travel up the Oodnadatta track, with stops at the Lyndhurst Ochre Pits, Talc Alf’s art gallery, Lake Eyre and at the end of the day a refreshing swim in thermal springs. Accommodation in cabin.

. Day Four – Today we drive west towards the opal capital of the world via red sand dune country and the world’s largest cattle station, Anna Creek. You will arrive in Coober Pedy with enough time to explore this amazing and bizarre town, where most of the inhabitants live underground. Time permitting we will drive to the extraordinary Breakaways, north of Coober Pedy where the movies Mad Max and Priscilla Queen of the Desert were filmed. Accommodation in cabin.

. Day Five – Leaving early in the morning we drive to Adelaide along the Stuart Highway arriving at approximately 1900-2000 the same day.

Kangaroo Island 3 Day Tour – TR09C

Adelaide To Alice Springs 7 Day Tour – TR20C

Travel in an air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle or mini coach on this seven day tour from Adelaide to Alice Springs. Highlights of the tour include Burra Gorge, the Flinders Ranges Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, the Oodnadatta Track, Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and the Olgas.

. Day One – We leave Adelaide at approximately 0800 heading up the highway to the famous Flinders Ranges via Quorn. We arrive at the magnificent Parachilna Gorge where you will see an abundance of wildlife. After a hearty lunch and plenty of time for a bushwalk or perhaps a swim in one of the water holes. Then we head towards our camping spot for the night. Overnight accommodation bush camping. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – Our destination, the outback. We travel into the driest part of the continent off the sealed roads and onto the dirt, up the Oodnadatta Track following the Old Ghan Railway stopping at Ochre Cliffs. The Arabanna Aboriginal Centre, Lake Eyre, Coward Thermal Springs for our overnight camp. Overnight accommodation bush camping with amenities. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Three – After breakfast we take an isolated track through the world’s largest cattle station, Anna Creek. Then we head for the opal capital of the world, Coober Pedy via the dingo fence. Learn about the opal industry with a guided tour around town. Overnight accommodation in an underground hotel or cottage. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Four – We have a big day driving the Stuart Highway with several pit stops en route with our goal for the day being Uluru (Ayers Rock). We set up camp at Yulara Resort before watching the sunset over Uluru taking in the beauty and majesty of this place. Overnight camping accommodation. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Five – A sunrise breakfast at Uluru (Ayers Rock), followed by a guided cultural walk around the base. Hear about Tjukurpa leading you to an understanding of the cultural landscape. Then visit the Cultural Centre then head back to camp for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. Overnight camping accommodation. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Six – Today we spend the morning at Kata Tjuta, (The Olgas) hiking through the magnificent Valley of the Winds followed by lunch and an afternoon drive to Watarka (Kings Canyon). Overnight camping accommodation. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Seven – A morning at beautiful Watarka. Then hike to the top of the canyon, through the sandstone domes and down into the Garden of Eden where you can cool off in the waterhole. After lunch we head for our final destination Alice Springs. Includes breakfast and lunch.
