Wilderness Wildscapes Day Tour – DW

Join one of our local guides and experience the wonders of Remarkable Rocks, Flinders Chase and Admirals Arch. You will be able to see wildlife in their natural environment as well as these wonderful Kangaroo Island icons. Enjoy a great lunch in a bushland setting and tour in our comfortable seven seat four wheel drive vehicles.

. Pick up from Kangaroo Island Airport or accommodation. Then off to Rocky River, headquarters of the Flinders Chase National Park. Here, kangaroos laze and Cape Barren Geese graze. The Chase is home to all our varieties of native animals and birds. On to Admirals Arch, an ancient limestone formation close to the ocean, a perfect haul-out area for an active colony of New Zealand Fur Seals. Then to Remarkable Rocks, via the spectacular coastline of Cape du Couedic, where the forces of nature have carved modern sculptures out of the granite.

. Travel out of the park to visit Koala Avenue, and a stroll through Grassdale Historic Farm. A short bushwalk searching for the Echidna or Spiny Ant Eater and observing the colourful Kangaroo Island endemic Crimson Rosella. Continue to Vivonne Bay , its crystal clear water supports a colony of little penguins. Your guide will take you to Point Ellen where you can fossick for shells on the beach and possibly sight a penguin in its rookery.

Wilderness Nature Two Day Tour – KIWT2

This tour combines our popular Wildlife and Wildscapes tours and gives you a great look at what the island has to offer. Let our local guide show you the magnificent scenery and icons of the island as well as our unique wildlife. All this and a wonderful lunch served with regional wines and travelling in our luxury seven seat four wheel drive vehicles.

. Kangaroo Island Wilderness Tours operate flexible, personalised, small group, four wheel drive vehicle touring packages designed to bring you closer to the island’s unique wild animals and nature.

. Day One – Pick up from Kangaroo Island Airport or accommodation. Then off to the Seal Bay Conservation Park. Learn how the Australian sea lion survives the rigors of the Southern Ocean. The colony of bulls, cows and pups rest on the beach where you can walk amongst them. We then enjoy a visit to the spectacular and vast sand dunes of Little Sahara. From the South Coast we traverse the rural areas of the middle of the island via the Parndana Wildlife Park. North Coast beaches, Snellings and Stokes are perfect for a leisurely stroll to enjoy the sound of waves breaking on the pristine, sandy coast. Nature walk through the drooping She-Oaks of Lathami National Park and observe the kangaroos and wallabies. This is also the habitat of the rare Glossy Black Cockatoo, and great country for the elusive Echidna or otherwise known as the Spiny Ant Eater.

Wilderness South Coast Day Tour – 1DWSC

We have designed this tour for those of you that have limited time; it takes in Seal Bay, Flinders Chase, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Enjoy a great lunch and travel in our luxury seven seat four wheel drive vehicles. If you have a tight program let our local guides show you as much as they can in a day, but we really recommend you stay for at least two days if you can.

We stroll along the beautiful Antechamber Bay to look for penguins and fossick for shells. Climb up the oldest lighthouse in South Australia at Cape Willoughby on the far eastern tip of the island. Visit Pennington Bay, and the south-eastern coastal area where there will be plenty of great photographic opportunities. Visit a winery and enjoy sensational views while tasting local wine. We visit Cliffords Honey Farm, and if time allows, the main town of Kingscote. Then return to accommodation.
