Clean, quiet and friendly accommodation only 150 metres from the Darling River.

Pooncarie is situated 130kms north of Mildura in N.S.W. The Historical Pooncarie Hotel/Motel has been a tradition in the far west Darling country since 1879.

The Hotel/Motel is everything a country Hotel/Motel should be:

Clean
Quiet
Friendly

With the accommodation we have four units with ensuites and three other rooms with share bathroom. All rooms have airconditioning, meals are available seven days a week, either in the dining room or outside in the Beer Garden.

The country around Pooncarie is full of many natural splendours, from the beauty of the river to the kangaroos that hop around the town at dusk.

The Hotel is only 150 metres from the Darling River which is great for the person who wants to go fishing or just have a stroll along the river and listen to the birds singing.

While in Pooncarie you can enjoy our golf course which will test the best of golfers.

Pooncarie has a population of 84 and has won many tidy towns awards. We have an annual race meeting in early October which has become a tradition throughout the outback.

For the air traveller there is an all weather air strip with lights just 2kms from town. We would be happy to transport guests to and from the Hotel.
