Apollo Bay Eco YHA, Apollo Bay

Apollo Bay Eco YHA is the newest edition to the YHA stable and is an eco experience not be missed! The $3 million, architect designed hostel features passive solar design, spacious lounges and outdoor balconies. It also features a rooftop deck offering spectacular views across the bay and coast. The hostel is centrally located and guests can take one of the bikes available and cycle the township itself, or for the really ambitious, along a scenic stretch of the Great Ocean Road. Apollo Bay is rich in natural beauty, with many opportunities to partake in a number of outdoor pursuits such as surfing, wind surfing, paragliding, snorkelling, horse riding and bushwalking. A short drive from the town is Maits Rest, where visitors can enjoy a stunning rainforest walk set in the temperate surrounds of the Great Otway National Park. Linking Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles, the walk will stretch 91km and take approximately 8 days and 7 nights to complete. Eco Beach YHA is placed perfectly for those wishing to begin or end their journey on this spectacular new track. On the culinary side of things, meals can be prepared in one of the hostel’s fully equipped guest kitchens or out on the barbecue. The hostel is conveniently located 100 metres from the local supermarket. For those not wishing to cook, Apollo Bay has a fantastic and varied, selection of restaurants, pubs and cafe’s, many of them using bay-fresh seafood and delicious local produce.
