The Estate of 44 acres sits within a large sweeping bend in the Hunter River. Redolent with history, the estate bred a Melbourne Cup winner in the 1860s. Historical information is available for guests to contemplate. Distinguished by large exotic trees planted in the Victorian era creating the country park like grounds, this is a substantial and handsome early Victorian country home. From sandstone verandahs the House enjoys panoramic views from Brokenback to Barrington over rich Hunter River countryside grazed by a Fresian dairy herd.

The House is available to individual groups to enjoy the rare opportunity of staying in an authentic heritage listed property with excellent modern comforts in a relaxing, rural setting. The courtyard garden with original Corinthian -columned Victorian pergolas and wide verandahs creates an excellent setting for outdoor entertaining and BBQs. Formal dining can be enjoyed in the gracious dining room with seating capacity for up to 16 persons.

Located within easy reach of Broke/Fordwich and Pokolbin vineyards and wineries the guests can decide whether to nestle into a weekend of gourmet cooking in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen, with the wine and the good company they provide or request additional services such as a grocery shopping service, gourmet prepared meals, full catered dining, brass bands or dining musicians, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, hot air ballooning, golfing and wine country bus services.

Hambledon Hill House welcomes B&B guests at the conveniently located Orchard House a mere 1minute walk from Hambledon Hill itself. B&B guests are given the exclusion and privacy of 2 Queen Rooms with large windows onto enormous verandahs with sweeping rural views. B&B guests have their own dedicated bathroom. Delicious country gourmet breakfasts are served on either the verandah or in the Main Hall overlooking the panoramic views.

The pleasures of Orchard House include country park style gardens, plentiful and colouful birdlife, CD, video. DVD player. Broke Fordwich wineries are 20 mins drive and the Pokolbin area 30 mins drive.
