Barringtons Wildernest Cabins, Dungog

If you are looking for 4 1/2 star accommodation and romantic seclusion, then discover the best kept secret in Australia. The Wildernest cabins (the “Nests”) are hexagonal shaped pole cabins hidden in the luxurious green foothills of Barrington Tops National Park and are the perfect setting for a honeymoon, anniversary or romantic weekend.

The Nests are located on the 200 acre Barringtons Wilderness Estate which is within walking distance of Chichester Dam – just 2 1/2 hours drive north of Sydney.

The cabins are managed and serviced by our friendly neighbours at the Barringtons Country Retreat who offer all inclusive accommodation/meal packages, horse riding and a high class a la carte restaurant. Everything is available for the perfect romantic weekend getaway.

The Nests are air-conditioned and have a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher), spa bath, log fire and a private balcony and BBQ. Bath robes and hair driers are provided. The estate includes an all-weather tennis court (tennis racquets provided in Nests), swimming pool, dams and walking trails.

The resort is surrounded by the rainforests of Barrington Tops National Park and the historic towns of Dungog, Clarence Town, Stroud, Gresford, Paterson and Gloucester, and the wineries in the Hunter Valley are only an hour away.

Your holiday could be active, or simply indulgent. You could explore the rainforest walking trails or tourist drives, visit historic towns, play tennis or swim, go horse riding, visit the wineries, or simply relax with your partner in your secluded Nest. Wildernest luxury hexagonal shaped pole cabin

The Wildernest cabins ("Nests") are secluded on the higher parts fo the Barringtons Wilderness Estate. Nests 1 & 2 are nearest to the Estate entrance and overlook the green rolling hills that surround the approach road from Dungog. Nests 3 & 4 are hidden amongst native bushland at the top of an adjacent hill. Nests 5 & 6 are are about 2 kms from the estate entrance, have views of native bushland and the rich dairy country, and are nearest to the resort pool and tennis court.

All nests are air conditioned, have log fires, a completely self-contained kitchen and two person spa. They have polished timber floors, vaulted ceilings, romantic four-poster style beds and are tastefully furnished.
