Giba Gunyah Country Cottages, Bemboka

Two unique, charming cottages furnished in country style, set on 80 acres of rolling farmland and bush clad ridges.

Bordered by a National Park, and the Bemboka River, you can experience bushwalking and bird watching, explore the Rocky River, swim in the Hugh swimming hole, or just laze beside the river at the BBQ/Picnic area. Your dogs will enjoy swimming in the dams and river, chasing the rabbits (not the horses, please) and roving with you over the scenic property, as well snuggling up with you in front of the log fore.

Each cottage has a secluded, securely fenced shady garden. Be fully self contained or indulge yourself in a luscious breakfast basket, cereals, juice, new laid eggs, bacon, fresh baked bread and home made jams. Each cottage sleeps six with linen supplied. They have TV, VCR, books and games and many additional unexpected touches.

Pinewood Cottage is a purpose built Wheelchair/Disabled access cottage, and of course is also dog friendly.

Situated 35 minutes from the Sapphire Coast‘s pristine beaches, we are also within easy reach of the regions many attractions, national parks, craft villages, galleries, heritage sites and a variety of eco-tourism activities and farm tours. Giba Gunyah is centrally situated between Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.

Accommodation Options

Pinewood Cottage

A mellow timber lined hexagon, purpose built for Wheelchair & Disabled Access. With a large kitchen & living area, spacious bathroom and two bedrooms, Pinewood is also heated by a log fire. This is a light airy living space.

Surrounded by a shady grape and wisteria draped pergola, the cottage is set in a native garden, and you’ll enjoy the northerly aspect with views to the bush clad ridges surrounding Bemboka Peak

Stone Cottage

The original cottage at Giba Gunyah is a delightful rustic dwelling. This river boulder cottage, built by well known water colour artist Ray Barnett, sits high on the bushy hill overlooking the Bemboka River.

Sited in a shady cottage style garden, this cottage remains pleasantly cool during the summer months, and in winter is made snug with a cosy log fire.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
