Yarramalong, Kalbar

Camp, canoe, climb, cool down and relax at nature’s paradise. Yarramalong is five minutes off the Cunningham Highway, just over an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Nestled at the base of Mount Edwards National Park and only a few minutes drive to Lake Moogerah.

Reynolds Creek runs all year round through the property where you can swim, canoe (available for hire or bring your own), cascade or fish in big water holes. Bush walks through the Gorge to Lake Moogerah or climb to the top of Mount Edwards for panoramic views of the Fassifern Valley.

Yarramalong’s camp areas are in natural surrounds. Enjoy open camp fires while cooking marshmallows and making damper. Firewood is available. Gas barbecues are also available in an eating shelter, ideal for families or group cook-ups.

For apprehensive campers there is a delightful cabin with a verandah. It’s self contained with a stove, refrigerator, cooking utensils and linen. It has one double and six single beds.

There is an indoor centre for group activities, family get togethers and parties with group camp catering services available. Or use the centre for indoor games such as table tennis in inclement weather.

Other activities include archery, table tennis, orienteering, volleyball or bring your own equipment and make use of the large oval. Kids bring your bikes. Lay back and enjoy a laze in the sun, read a book, meet new people, sleep and unwind. Explore the Scenic Rim, Governors Chair, the Gorges of Mount Greville, The Head or the glorious Lake Moogerah. Interesting short drives, museums, quaint hotels, wineries and fascinating shops. Explore the Fassifern Valley, then come back to Yarramalong, have a nice hot shower, light a campfire, sit back, relax and enjoy the music of the bush.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
