Midway Caravan Park and Service Station, Georgetown

Georgetown, four and a half hours drive west of Cairns via the Gulf Development Road is an ideal resting point when heading to the Gulf Country or a perfect base to explore the Cape York Savannahland.

Beautiful gorges, breathtaking Lava Tubes, the Savvanahlander Train, Barramundi fishing, the Ted Elliott Mineral Collection or the thrill of gem fossicking are all on the doorstep of this tranquil outback town.

Midway Caravan Park is set in two acres of shaded grassland in a quiet outback setting right in the heart of Georgetown. The weather is pleasant all year round with warm to hot temperatures and most rainfall confined to December to March monsoonal season. The caravan and camping park has grassed and shady powered and unpowered sites, extra long motorhome sites, disabled amenities, a van storage facility and salt water swimming pool with spa for a refreshing swim.

They provide a full range of accommodation and roadhouse services.

Their BYO Cafe Restaurant boasts locally sourced meat for home cooked and takeaway meals.

Groceries are available from the Mini Mart which also stocks phone cards and they are an authorised Pharmacy agent. A gold phone is available for local and long distance calls.

They happily accept Eftpos, Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa, Mobilcard and AMEX.

They can book your tours or accommodation for Cobbold Gorge and Undurra Lava Tubes (bookings for both are essential).
