Faversham House York, York

Situated in the heart of York, Faversham House is a historic National Trust and Heritage Council (Western Australia) luxury guest house and conference / function centre. Set in five acres of garden and vineyard, guests can relax and enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah whilst enjoying the views to Mount Brown. Homemade bread, jams and poached fruits await you at the generous continental breakfast. Colonial cool in summer, cosy log fires in winter – perfect for a short break from the city.

Faversham House offers five large bedrooms with ensuite or private bathrooms in the mansion, and access to the comfortable spacious drawing room, library and verandahs. Take a book and sit under the 100 year old fir tree and have a conversation with the many cockatoos and kookaburras that visit the gardens.

Also available are six bedrooms set around the picturesque herb courtyard, with reverse cycle air conditioning and sharing modern bathroom facilities. Ideal for group bookings, barbecue facilities are also available in the courtyard. Guests of the courtyard take breakfast in the dining hall and also have access to the gardens. Special discounts for group bookings are available – historic comfortable accommodation at a budget price.

Mansion rooms

The Mansion Rooms:

The East Indies Suite which has an ensuite and a king-size four post bed is furnished in a Dutch Colonial style with an aspect to Mount Brown.

The Mount Brown Suite which has an ensuite and a king-size bed that can convert to a twin bed looks out to Mount Bakewell, Mount Brown and has verandah access with views to the York village centre.

The Pepper Tree Suite which has an ensuite and a king-size bed that can convert to a twin bed overlooks the majestic old Peppertree and the northern garden.

The Avon which has a private bathroom, a queen-size bed and with its beautiful marble and iron fireplace, looks out to Avon Terrace and beyond to Mount Brown.

The Olive Tree which has a private bathroom, a king-size bed that can convert to a twin bed looks out to an old Olive Tree (over 150 years old).

The Pines which has a shared bathroomand a king size bed has verandah access with views to the York village centre.

All Faversham guestrooms provide toiletries,towelling bathrobes and tea / coffee facilities for guest use. Guests staying at Faversham House can relax in the elegant Drawing Room by the open fire, on the lawns in front of the house or on the upstairs verandah overlooking Mt. Brown

Courtyard rooms

Garden Courtyard Rooms:

The Garden Courtyard has five cottage style rooms, all airconditioned, which face onto a central herb garden.They share a private guest lounge with tea and coffee facilities which also doubles as an extra bedroom with two sofa beds making six bedrooms in total.
Four courtyard rooms each have a double bed, with a fifth having a double bed and an additional single bed.
These courtyard rooms have shared bathroom facilities for groups (three bathrooms), as well as sharing the Faversham House facilities when part of a single house booking. Alteratively single room bookings can be assigned their own "private" bathroom upon request.
