Bear Gully Coastal Cottages, Walkerville South

Along the wild and rugged coastline of South East Victoria, half way between Cape Liptrap and Walkerville South, lies the sleepy little hideaway of Bear Gully, and Bear Gully Coastal Cottages. These comfortable contemporary style cottages accommodate up to four people, maximising views across Waratah Bay to the magnificent mountains of Wilson’s Promontory. The safe and sandy shores of Maitland Beach are at your doorstep. Fossick amongst the rock pools, swim in the pristine waters, or enjoy fishing, diving, snorkelling, coastal walks and many other activities. Each cottage has two bedrooms and includes all linen and towels. ‘Gull Cottage’ and ‘Cuttlebone Cottage’ have two queen sized beds; ‘Shearwater Cottage’ and ‘Nautilus Cottage’ each have one queen sized bed and two single beds, all with electric blankets. All bedrooms open out through sliding glass doors onto decking overlooking the sea. The central living area consists of a fully fitted kitchen, comfortably furnished living room with the dining area. Bathroom/laundry (including washing machine) and separate toilet. Other features include a Coonara style gas log heater, television, VCR, DVD, CD/radio, electric barbecue and carport parking. A large undercover deck opens out from the living room – absolutely perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunrises. With strong tempestuous winds whipping the water, winter here can be wild. Curl up on the sofa in front of the fire with a really good book and a glass wine. On arrival at Bear Gully, you will be welcomed and given keys and a brief introduction to your ‘getaway’ and then left to enjoy your stay. What you need to bring: All food, drinks, books, CD’s, DVD’s, videos, beach towels, and tough walking shoes for exploring, insect repellent, sunscreen and hats This is a wilderness location, so the nearest shops, petrol stations, and pubs are 20 – 25kms away at Tarwin Lower or Sandy Point.
