Minilya Bed & Breakfast, Maldon

Minilya is a magnificent example of Grand Federation architecture built in 1900 by Charles Calder, the second son of Thomas Calder. The home is situated at the foot of Mt Tarrangower, with a beautiful outlook over the mountains towards Castlemaine.

Minilya offers two immaculately presented suites, each having its own private entrance, lounge area and ensuite. The property also houses a romantic cottage set in the gracious gardens around the property. Enjoy the view with a romantic summer breakfast on the sweeping verandah. Your days will be filled with so much to see and do in the Historic goldmining town of Maldon.

Enjoy a nostalgic steam train experience on the Goldfields Railway, explore a gold mine, climb Mt Tarrangower, try the angling in Cairn Curran Reservoir or just stroll through town enjoying the antique shops and cafes, taking in the history of this lovely town. Maldon is situated amongst some of Victoria’s best wineries including Pyrenees, Bendigo and Macedon Regions, all with daily tastings and only a short drive to Castlemaine, Bendigo, Maryborough and many other smaller towns, all with a charm of their own.
