Marlborough House, Bendigo

For a unique experience of historic style and modern sophistication, Bendigo‘s Marlborough House is unmatched. The House has stood as one of the town’s centrepieces since the gold rush era, and the exceptional architectural style is still stunning. Built circa 1869, the House has served as a hospitality venue for over 137 years, and is currently operated as an outstanding bed and breakfast/boutique hotel, featuring peaceful sleeping quarters and relaxing spaces in which to sit, read, or just watch the world go by.

Breakfast on the balcony is always a highlight. For a truly memorable escape, try a tour of the local wine region in Marlborough House’s beautifully restored classic T Series Bentley motorcar. Travel in superb elegance and comfort while enjoying the range of sought-after wines from the surrounding areas. Stroll to the arts precinct and city centre, or enjoy a local wine “in-house” and a night beside the fire. Singles, couples, small groups (up to 16 people) welcome. In-house dining is now available at Marlborough House with the recently opened Raffeales fully licensed restaurant.

Our chef is Marc Frochot, a classically trained French chef. Originally from Dijon, Marc has worked at a long list of major hotels in Europe, including a two year stint at the Carlton, in England, one of the world’s most famous hotels. The menu is predominantly French provincial with some Italian and other influences. Whilst the atmosphere is casual elegance in a keeping with the European influence.

Marlborough House and Raffaeles restaurant bring together the current owner’s passion for food and wine, their love of heritage buildings, with their interest in people to provide you with their exceptional hospitality. Various packages are available including Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, Bentley Chauffer-driven Winery Tours, and others, including personalised packages. Self contained house also available.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
