Bishopscourt Bed and Breakfast, Bendigo

Bishopscourt is a stately Victorian mansion (circa 1876) set on 1/2 an acre of gardens in the heart of historic Bendigo. Bishopscourt has a rich and colourful history. Built for eminent surgeon and scientist Paul Howard MacGillivray as a private home and surgery, (the largest private residence in Bendigo at that time) Bishopscourt later spent 64 years as the Anglican Churches Bishops Palace. As a guest you will enjoy an atmosphere of comfort, spaciousness and tranquility. You may choose to relax in the shade of the oak tree, sit back in a sumptuous lounge in front of an open fire with a book selected from the extensive library, or even play a game of croquet in the lower garden. Bishopscourt offers guests large queen size bedrooms with open-fires, lounge chairs, dining suite, air-conditioning, television, CD, DVD, and views over the garden and surrounding area. Each bedroom has a beautifully appointed bathroom with clawfoot bath and shower. There is a large guest lounge with open-fire, billiard room with tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar, games, puzzles, pin-ball, television, video, stereo, extensive library and satisfying cooked breakfast of your choice. Bishopscourt is an easy walk to Bendigo’s Arts and Sports precincts, antiques, restaurants and cafes, parklands and tourist attractions. Bishopscourt also features a self contained apartment within the cleverly converted stables. This is a luxurious contemporary apartment with all the features required to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
