Glenaire Cottages, Glenaire

Inspired by nature our delightful timber cottages are designed to offer a restful sanctuary, superb views and a taste of fine country living in a private natural landscape. The tiny seaside settlement of Glenaire is an extraordinary convergence of giant rolling green hills, peaceful river flats and spectacularly weathered cliffs that dwarf romantic sandy beaches and coves.

Reminiscent of Wales or Scotland the tranquil rural valley is precariously protected from the untamed Southern Ocean by a thin ridge of limestone that sweeps back and rises to form a forested ridge descending into magnificent lush fern gullies, habitat for the healthy bird life that frequents our cottages. Glenaire is by the ocean 35 Kilometres west of Apollo Bay. On a map you will see that it is exactly half way along The Great Ocean Road.

Glenaire is by the sea in a uniquely beautiful area and presents a wonderful opportunity for those wanting to harmonise with nature and avoid the crowds without sacrificing quality & comfort. We offer a choice of two country cottages and two spa cottages, massages are available and we have recently opened a fully licensed restaurant now being run by Manuel Gongis and Amy Carrington who are quickly gaining a reputation for excellence. Each cottage offers: * absolute privacy * undercover parking * ocean views * log fires * satellite television * video, CD & stereo * inhouse massage * fully equipped kitchen * gas BBQ * private laundry * covered verandah * pet friendly yards * walking trails * fresh flowers, candles and firewood * direct access to the Otway National Park & The Great Ocean Walk * exclusive access to our private farm & forest trails

Australia's Best Beaches

Australia has miles and miles of shoreline but which beaches are really great? Ultimately it depends on what you're looking for in a beach. Pristine wilderness without a single footprint in sight, the sparkle of cosmopolitan high rise on the waters edge, the adrenalin pumping roar of a powerful surf beach, or quite simply the perfect white squeaky sand that squelches between your toes. Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
