Blackwood River Cottages, Nannup

Three charming timber cottages privately located on the banks of the Blackwood River at Nannup in the beautiful Blackwood Valley. Comfortably furnished, they each have a private double spa, television, video player, wood fire and a barbecue. On site canoe hire is available at your doorstep year round.

The cottages are just 12 kilometres from the historically rich timber mill town of Nannup, known for its timber craftsmen, quaint shops, antiques and the newly opened Mythic Maze with its Tearooms and Gallery. The Nannup Music Festival is in March and the Tulip Festival and Gardens Open are a delight in August.

Central to the attractions of Western Australia’s South West, the chalets are within easy reach of Pemberton, home to the Gloucester Tree and the Tram or Steam Train journey through the towering forest. Walk the Mile Long Jetty at Busselton and continue on to the Margaret River Wine Region famous for its many wineries, art galleries and artisans’ studios, restaurants, breweries, cheese factories and the renowned Ngilgi, Lake, Jewel and Mammoth Caves. Whale watch the Humpback and Southern Right Whales passing by Augusta or experience the Tree Top Walk near Walpole.

Back home at the cottages there are excellent viewings to be had of kangaroos in the early evenings or chance sightings of possums or bandicoots. Follow walk trails in the forest and see the glorious colours of wildflowers in spring. Colourful varieties of birds visit the cottages and ducks nest near the lake with the occasional sighting of a long necked tortoise. The deafening sound of the frog chorus can be heard following the winter rains.

Blackwood River Cottages offer the bliss of perfect peace combined with warmth and charm in a natural riverbank setting surrounded by forest.
