Hervey Bay has gained international recognition as one of the best locations to view a great variety of marine life especially the majestic humpback whales (August to November). Hervey Bay is also a major departure point to Fraser Island, the largest sand Island in the world and Lady Elliott Island which is part of the Great Barrier Reef and is fantastic for snorkeling and diving, departure daily.
