Kilcowera Station, Thargomindah

Kilcowera is a large organically run cattle property, 1,000 kilometres west of Brisbane. It is quiet, private and remote, perfect for a week away or as a stopover on your journey through south west Queensland.

Guided tours of the property are available or visitors can do their own thing. The eastern boundary is Lake Wyara, a 6,000 hectare refuge for birds and wildlife. See rangelands, gorges and waterholes on your drive to the lake.

Camp oven cooking is a specialty as are all the home cooked meals. The comfortable shearers quarters can sleep 16 in twin rooms with more beds available on request. Caravanners and campers are also welcome.

Pristine wilderness without a single footprint in sight, the sparkle of cosmopolitan high rise on the waters edge, the adrenalin pumping roar of a powerful surf beach, or quite simply the perfect white squeaky sand that squelches between your toes.
