Shaws on the Shore, Magnetic Island

Luxury, but affordable is now on Magnetic Island. Opened April 2001 in Horseshoe Bay, is a new innovation in apartment accommodation. Right on the waterfront at Horseshoe Bay where you can swim safely 365 days every year.

The complex of apartments was the brainchild of Margaret Shaw, a resident of Magnetic Island.

‘I had bought the land and decided to fill a niche in the accommodation market which I felt was lacking. Luxury four and a half star standard for an affordable price.’ Ms Shaw said. The popularity of these apartments has proved her to be absolutely correct. Shaws on the Shore was the accommodation chosen to be highlighted in a recent ‘Getaway’ program explaining the pleasures of a holiday on Magnetic Island.

Shaws on the Shore has two and three bedroom apartments available. Each luxury unit is fully self contained with a full size kitchen, bathroom laundry and spacious balcony overlooking the water.

The two bedroom apartments have a queen-size bed in one room, three single beds in another room and a double sofa bed in the living area. The three bedroom apartments have all this plus an extra queen-size bed in the third bedroom.

Downstairs in a supermarket, next door is a delicatessen, which bakes fresh bread and bagels daily. A restaurant and popular Bar are only three doors away from Shaws on the Shore.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
