Fur ‘n’ Feathers Rainforest Tree Houses, Malanda

Fur ‘n’ Feathers Rainforest Tree Houses are situated in the magnificent Atherton Tablelands, the Cairns Highlands, just over an hour from Cairns.

Imagine relaxing on the balcony of a timber and glass pole home overlooking the Ithaca River, hidden in one-hundred acres of private, ancient rainforest. You’ll have a variety of exotic tropical birds visit and every evening friendly but wild possums will come to say ‘hello’.

To leave your balcony and enter your Tree House, is to go from wilderness to luxury, with spacious living areas, glass-fronted fireplace, very functional kitchen and large comfortable lounges. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed on this level, plus bathroom, complete with double spa, shower and toilet. The upstairs loft provides additional sleeping space overlooking the living areas and rainforest.

Park your vehicle under your Tree House which also has full free laundry facilities at your convenience.
Each Tree House sleeps two to eight persons, is AAA rated four stars, and includes IDD phone, internet dial up (or wireless satellite at recetion), television/DVD, dishwasher, bathrobes, slippers, bird books and Fauna/Flora species lists.
The Rainforest Unit is simpler style, ground level brick attached to the main building and has a simpler style, two bedrooms, bathroom with double spa, kitchen and living area with wood fire. The Bower is a larger tree house offering three bedrooms and two bathrooms and has won four building awards.

It’s a complex mesophyll vine forest, conservation status – ‘endangered’. The habitat has numerous rare and endangered species, including Cassowary, Lumholtz Tree Kangaroos and Platypus.

Activities include Free Platypus Spotting Tours; Self-guided Walks; Night spotlighting with a professional Guide; River Tubing; and in-house Massage. It is centrally located to the numerous attractions on the Atherton Tablelands. This property is exclusively for guests, it holds Eco Tourism’s Advanced Accreditation and is purely a place where wildlife is abundant and people are few.

The Bower

The Bower is a larger tree house which backs into the edge of the rainforest affording beautiful valley views.
There are three bedrooms using king and single beds, and two bathrooms, one with a double spa bath. It has a fully equipped kitchen, free laundry facilities, barbecue and hammock on the verandah.
