Chapel Hill Winery Guest House, Mclaren Vale

Chapel Hill Winery lies among the picturesque rolling hills of McLaren Vale, a leisurely 40-minute drive south of Adelaide. The site’s beautifully restored nineteenth century ironstone chapel now serves as the winery’s cellar door which is open every day from 1200 until 1700, except Christmas Day and Good Friday.

Nestled among the Chapel Hill Winery vineyards, be gently awakened by the sounds of the birds and discover another beautiful Mediterranean day in McLaren Vale. Make yourself a coffee, sit outside and absorb the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding vineyards, Onkaparinga Gorge National Park and the Gulf of Saint Vincent. Cook up a storm with the breakfast provisions, or choose to drive 10 minutes to McLaren Vale and let any one of our great cafes do it for you. The hardest part of the day is choosing from the many different things to do in the region. There are over 50 wineries with cellar doors in the area, producing some of the finest wine in Australia. For the non wine drinker there is a multitude of food sampling to do, from locally grown and produced olives and oil, to chocolate, cheese, pesto and sauces. Walk on the pristine beaches of Port Willunga or Aldinga and enjoy the view of the magnificent red cliffs that line the coast. Visit the Farmers Markets in Willunga, hike through the Onkaparinga Gorge National Park, or simply relax and enjoy the solitude of the peaceful surroundings.

Dining in McLaren Vale is always an exceptional experience. Choose between some of the best restaurants on the Fleurieu Peninsula with menus displaying a fabulous array of regional produce. Alternatively stay in and make the most of the fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher and microwave) with dining for up to 10 people, or the outdoor undercover barbecue area.

The Guest House also has spacious living areas with an open fireplace, DVD/VCR, television and CD player. All three bedrooms have air-conditioning, television, telephone and Internet access and feature queen size beds. Two bedrooms have ensuites and one has a bathroom across the hallway.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
