Sponars Chalet, Perisher Valley

Welcome to Sponars Chalet. Situated at 1500 metres altitude in the Kosciuszko National Park, 7 kilometres from Perisher Blue, Sponars is an owner operated Chalet. It is an historic, well known landmark, a traditional ski lodge offering a unique snow holiday. Sponars sits on the site of the original Kosciuszko Hotel whose Grand Slam Ski run was the first commercial ski slope in the Snowy Mountains.

Sponars offers the best value hotel accommodation in the snow. We accommodate 100 guests in comfort with the rooms having ensuite facilities. Unlike most lodges in the snow Sponars has a Free Carpark for guests. Each morning either drive to the resort of catch our courtesy bus to Perisher Blue.

We have lots of activity in the lodge in the evenings. There are regular musicians who entertain around the bar. There are karaoke nights, impromptu sessions around the pianola, darts competitions, bingo, trivial pursuite and more.
During the School Holidays there is a Kid’s Club where the children are entertained and fed from 6-9pm in a designated Kids Club Room.
Our beautiful Pool and Steam Building is a great way to fix those tired muscles, the pool is set at 29 degrees – bliss. And for our regulars, the walkway has now been built between the Chalet and Pool.
This past summer saw renovations on the third floor, we have recarpeted extensively and renovated another 4 bathrooms. We are also having a satelite dish installed for those all important sporting events.

Pristine wilderness without a single footprint in sight, the sparkle of cosmopolitan high rise on the waters edge, the adrenalin pumping roar of a powerful surf beach, or quite simply the perfect white squeaky sand that squelches between your toes.
